Scenery between Albuquerque and Santa Fe

No birds in this post, just a few pictures I took while Mel and I drove up to Santa Fe for dinner at her adviser’s house. There are a few basalt lava flows that form a plateau about 3/4 of the way to Santa Fe that I enjoy driving up.

Travel along a lava flow at 75 mph!

On top of the plateau, scrubby bushes grow in the grass. There is one small mushroom-shaped tree, but I missed it in this picture
